Wild Flowers

This is a picture I took a couple of weeks ago.  I love it so much.  These are wild flowers (some may call them weeds...but they are WILD flowers) that grow and take over, sort of like the bluebonnets here, in Texas.  They cover an area like a blanket.  They are so bright and beautiful.  To me, Spring isn't about the nice potted plants, or the "well known" Spring flowers or trees...it is about the flowers that grow and thrive in the wild!  The ones that no matter what kind of soil or (lack of) water they have, they are still beautiful.

Enjoy!

Our Day By Day

Life's Blessings Are Found In Our Day By Day I often find myself harping and nagging at my kids to "pick up" their stuff!  PICK IT UP!  I am raising the future MEN of this world.  And even though I am a Mama and wife who tries to do it all for my kids and husband to make their lives easier, I find myself realizing whoever marries my sons will not appreciate them being so spoiled.  I mean, a man and/or a woman should be able to take care of themselves on their own.  Being domesticated is one of the most important things in life...it's being free of relying on anyone else for your everyday needs.  Plus, the last time I checked my name wasn't Cinderella.  I don't own ball gowns, I don't have a fairy-god mother, I don't wear glass slippers.  However, I do wear old worn clothes and scrub floors (literally).  I need them to be able to stand on their own two feet and survive in this world.  My way of thinking is to get them trained and t...

The Space Between

The shore is the safest place to stay, they say.   But sometimes we venture out into the deep.   We realize when it’s too late that we can’t touch the bottom, we can’t swim, or we’re swimming with the sharks.   It’s the space in between the two shores that we find out who we are.   The space in between a girl and a woman. The space in between a marriage and divorce. The space in between having babies and an empty nest. The space in between the shallow and the deep. We’ll never lose our fear if we don’t let go of the side and swim.   Some say freedom is out there waiting past our comfort zone.   But what they don’t know is… The space in between will pull you under.   The space in between makes you grow too fast from a girl to a woman. The space in between rushes you from marriage to divorce. The space in between devours the precious hours with your children until you’re all alone.   At a glance we think we can swim – but ...
